Winter 2025
Dear Friend,
Hello, and thank you for your interest in Grieving Hearts. We want you to know that you do not have to carry this heartache alone. Comfort, understanding, and genuine connection are here, and we are so pleased to connect with you.
Below are a few highlights from the last three months, along with upcoming opportunities to gather together — gentle times to connect, and support one another in the company of mothers who understand.
Recent Happenings
Our community continues to grow in meaningful ways. The level of interest shows how deeply this support is needed.
We have had several intimate gatherings filled with warmth, remembrance, and honest conversation. Each time we come together, we are reminded how powerful it is to be in the presence of mothers who truly understand.
Gratefully, we've been able to connect several mothers with similar losses, allowing comforting bonds to form and support to deepen.
Our recent fundraiser was a meaningful success, raising nearly $500 through the sale of $5 and $10 handcrafted angels while introducing Grieving Hearts to more than 200 women.
With Gratitude
Thank you to the volunteers and donors whose generosity of time, materials, and financial support helps make Grieving Hearts possible. Your kindness is helping us offer connection, care, and compassionate outreach to mothers navigating child loss.
Several moms volunteered their time this season to create and sell angel ornaments — primarily to raise awareness that we are here — at Granite Bay Church in Folsom’s Shop with a Purpose during their annual Women’s Christmas event.
Mothers and friends have also generously donated, and one of our mothers donated a heart-shaped pin maker. We have a simple template available if you would like to create a heart pin featuring your child’s photograph.
A Gentle Tidbit
Research — and our lived experience — remind us that being with other mothers who understand our grief can calm our nervous system and even lower blood pressure. There is something profoundly regulating about being seen and understood without needing to explain.
We are grateful you are here and honored to walk alongside you.
With warmth,

P.S. If we have not yet connected personally, I would love to speak by phone, meet for coffee, or share a simple text hello.

We're excited to announce the
Grieving Hearts Healing Series
Expected in June 2026
The Healing Series is a mother-specific, peer-led grief program created by three licensed therapists who are themselves bereaved mothers, combining clinical expertise with the lived experience of child loss.
The program addresses how losing a child affects everything: a mother’s body, mind, relationships, faith, and sense of who she is. Each session offers a trauma-informed, compassionate space where mothers can speak freely, honor their child, and rebuild identity at a gentle, realistic pace.
Format: Six-week series • Weekly 90-minute sessions • Workbook included with a participant fee
